New apartment - check for mold?

I'm going to be moving in to a new apartment in a couple weeks and am wondering - how extensively should I check it out before moving in? I know about the whole walk-thru with the landlord, but what about things like mold? I've only seen the place once, and didnt check every nook and cranny for mold, but the freezer was covered in it and the landlord acted shocked and said he would get it cleaned up - and that is was probably from the frig being unplugged for a couple weeks. In one of my last rentals, i didnt look close enough when checking the place out, and it turned out to be infested with mold and the owner had to cut walls out to remove it all (we moved out after finding all the mold). I have a 19 month old daughter and dont want her to be exposed to that. I know all homes have SOME mold, but should i be looking for it? Should I do things like pull out the frig, dishwasher, washer/dryer and check behind them and their hoses?I am SCARED TO DEATH of mold - help!
