What will add more value and have a better appearance in a family/rec room - tile or hardwood?

We recently converted a two car garage (550 square feet) into a family/rec room. One side will have a large sofa and propane stove with large tv etc. The other side will have a bar, pool table and dart board set. The room is large and open. We are considering either tile or hardwood....#1 - what will last longer and #2 - add the most value to our home and #3 have the most appeal (warm, welcoming, etc) (we have no intention of selling, just want to get the best value i.e. if we were to have it appraised what would add the most value based on #1-#3?
