Almost 8month old boy and fireworks?

So I would loove to go watch fireworks somewhere, and want to share the special holiday w/ my son who is almost 8months old. It will be his first one. I don't know if I should, the fireworks get pretty loud. I went to a recent graduation and when everyone started clapping and hollering and when the band started playing, he did get scared, and I had to stand up and hold him and walk him around, so I don't know...what would you do? ThankS!!!!!
