Ideas for Moulin Rouge party?

I'm renting a small hall for me and my friends 24th birthday and so far I'm having everyone dress like the characters from the movie. I will be having a DJ, chocolate fountain and home made Eiffel Tower chocolate lollipops as party favors. I have a friend thats a drag queen and she does dance performances so I might have her perform at our party. I will be putting up white Christmas lights for a movie star effect, red tablecloths to cover the tables, red or black candles to set the mood and red and black ballons. Also I will be having a photographer. I'm on a budget so is there any other ideas that is inexpensive that will blow guests away?? I considered getting a backdrop but it costs way too much. I could create my own but I don't have the space and time to do it. Please help me!
